Input Control

Mania supports software input (default) and hardware input via Raspberry Pi Pico.

Mania simulates input in software by default. No additional hardware needed.

Configure mouse settings

Set mouse speed to the middle notch.

Disable pointer acceleration

Go to Mouse settings > Additional mouse settings > Disable Enhance pointer precision.

Route inputs through a Pico to a separate PC. PC1 remains usable while Mania runs.

PC1 (Mania) ← USB → CP2102 ← Wires → Pico ← USB → PC2 (MapleStory)

Raspberry Pi Pico, Pico W, Pico 2, or Pico 2 W with headers
USB to Micro-USB cable
CP2102 USB-to-UART adapter

CP2102 Driver Install (on PC1)

Download driver

Download and extract CP210x driver.

Connect CP2102

Plug in the CP2102 adapter.

Install driver

Device Manager → Ports → Right-click CP2102 → Update driver → Browse to extracted folder.

Wiring (CP2102 to Pico)

TX (Green)  → GP5 (Pin 7)
RX (White)  → GP4 (Pin 6)
GND (Black) → GND (Pin 3)
VCC (Red)   → Do not connect

Do not connect VCC (Red wire). The Pico is powered by PC2 via USB.

Setup

Wire CP2102 to Pico

Connect the wires as shown above.

Flash firmware

Hold BOOTSEL while plugging Pico into PC1. In Mania, click Hardware Input → Deploy.

Verify firmware

Pico blinks slowly = firmware ready.

Connect Pico to PC2

Unplug Pico from PC1 and connect to PC2 (the MapleStory PC).

Connect CP2102 to PC1

Plug CP2102 into PC1 (the Mania PC).

Enable hardware input

In Mania, toggle Hardware Input to connect.

Hardware input reduces lie detector frequency on servers where it’s enabled.
